Hello!
My name is Lisa Pettway, and I am delighted to become the
newest instructing member of the Wackie Fitness team.
My neighbor
brought me to my first Jazzercise class in May 2005. In hopes
of losing that dreaded baby weight I’d been carrying
for years, I decided to try out a class. My neighbor’s
enthusiasm enticed me, but the music, energy and friendly
group of people hooked me. I was the typical new Jazzerciser,
hiding in the back hoping not to be seen as I tripped over
my own two feet trying to follow the moves. I stuck with it
and soon starting learning the routines while having loads
of fun! Before I knew it, I shed the pounds and wasn't about
to look back.
I became
a Jazzercise Class Manager early 2006 learning the business
aspect of Jazzercise. But still wanting to do more, I decided
to become a Jazzercise instructor. I was fortunate enough
to go through the training workshop with another student.
It was a true blessing. Kim Petro and I formed an immediate
bond and became instant friends. We leaned on one another
for support as we prodded through the process together. We
were certified in January 2007, we both teach regularly, and
are good friends on and off the stage.
As
well as being a Jazzercise instructor, I wear many other hats.
I am a wife, a mother, an IT specialist, and have recently
begun designing websites. I have been married for eleven years
and have two beautiful daughters, Allison 8 and Alexandra
6. I work as a Senior Systems Analyst consulting to a government
contracting company in Arlington, Virginia. I enjoy playing
with my children, caring for my family, and watching old movie
classics.
Jazzercise
is more than just exercise for me. It’s like recess
but without the skinned knees. It is also a great way for
me to release stress, keep fit, and feel great! I couldn’t
ask for a better fitness program.
