Wackie Fitness Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring to class?

Your smile and sense of humor are essential! In addition, you'll need a bottle of water and a mat or towel for floor routines. Hand and/or leg weights are optional for use during the body-toning and strength-building routines.

What to wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict your movements. Many prefer shorts and a t-shirt while others wear sports bras and exercise pants. A good aerobic or athletic shoe is highly recommended. Check out Jazzertogs to purchase Jazzercise fitness apparel online or to request a catalog. When attending our classes at Braemar Dance Center, street shoes may not be worn in the studio. Please bring your workout shoes with you so you can change before class.

What time to arrive?

Be at class 10-15 minutes before class begins in order to sign-in and get settled. It is very important to be adequately warmed-up before beginning the aerobic portion of class so starting on time is highly recommended.

How long is class?

Each 60 to 70 minute class includes a warm-up, 30 minute aerobic workout, and strengthening using weights, and a full body stretch.

What sort of music is played?

The music selections change often to provide variety. Artists in recent sets include Gwen Stefani, Coldplay, Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, and Jack Johnson.

Do I need any dance experience?

Absolutely not. Jazzercise routines are choreographed by Jazzercise founder Judi Sheppard Missett. You won't just be exercising to background music, you'll DANCE to the music and have a great time while getting a great workout. Everyone learns at a different pace and everyone messes up at some point. The important thing is to have fun and keep moving.

How much does it cost?

We offer a variety of class passes and specials. The class managers, and instructors are able to find a pass that works for you.
